High Quality Construction & Design

OEX starter motors are built by quality controlled manufacturers, with preferred suppliers operating under ISO 9001

The Toyota Prado, HiLux and HiAce with KDH and KUN D4D Series engines can be fitted with one of two different starter motors. Upon visual inspection they are identical with the exception of the solenoid switch terminal, which is facing opposite directions. If incorrectly installed, the switch needs to be modified.

To overcome this issue, OEX developed a starter with twin female plugs to fit the Toyota Prado, HiLux and HiAce harness plugs.

A common concern from truck drivers is radiator damage by electrolysis. This can be avoided with the addition of a negative current path, not involving the engine block.

Due to the increased current flow through the standard brush holder, which was not designed for increased current, an purpose-built, enhanced OEX brush holder was developed and installed. This helps with heat dissipation and extra strength to support the extra negative cables connected to the unit

DXS9169 is a Delco Remy 39MT to suit Kenworth applications fitted with Cummins engines and was developed with Delco Remy and Ashdown-Ingram.
